We specialize in taking clients from their first outdoor climbing experience all the way to becoming a first-rate member of our climbing communities. We teach advanced climbing techniques, route reading, resting while climbing, lead climbing, route cleaning, advanced belay skills, and so much more. So if you want to know how to rock climb, our passionate, professional instructors are prepared and stoked for you!
This unique cable climbing system has been on the rise over the last couple of decades and has become quite the highly sought after outdoor experience. Through its design, many climbing experience levels are able to scale tall and steep rock terrain while aided by iron rungs affixed to the rock. Climbers are safely tethered to a steel cable that runs the entirety of the course with a climbing harness and specialized Via Ferrata tethers. The Southeast Mountain Guides Via Ferrata is the first one of its kind in the United States and is located on private land surrounded by the Daniel Boone National Forest in the Red River Gorge, KY! Participants must be 10 years of age or older.
There is nothing like leaning back into your harness trusting your rope and rappelling equipment as you descend a rock face for the first time! So if it is your first rappelling experience, it would be our privilege to experience it with you. For those that are looking for more advanced rappelling, our knowledgeable instructors are eager to teach you various climbing and rappelling knots, anchor building, rope management, and basic self-rescue skills.
